I am so sad that the Nande and Didi duo week in Stockholm is over but I am excited to share about our touristy week. This post is about our visit to Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum that has domestic and wild Nordic animals.
We did not expect the museum to be so big otherwise we would have probably started the day earlier. It was a nice day to be out though and even though we did not have a lot of time to see all the houses but we did walk past a few like this farm house below.
We also went into an old school that had a teacher inside. It was really…old school. Hahaha so punny.
Other cute houses we saw include this soldier’s house. I wish we had more time to look at all the houses so I would not mind heading back but definitely dreading the long winding paths. It was really quite tiring!
We made sure we saw all the animals though (at least the ones we could find). Some of the enclosures were empty for some strange reason but it was cool to see most of the nordic animals.
We were definitely not a fan of these lerums. They were quite scary to look at but we stopped to stare for awhile because they were jumping all over one lady in the enclosure. I definitely did not want to be her even though she seemed so calm about it. If you want to experience that, you could pay money to go into the enclosure and bring along a bagpack with something they would like. They would probably lick your bag non stop and not let you go.
If you are interested to see some of the animals we saw that day, do watch the video below and perhaps learn some Swedish along the way (assuming I got them right haha). The cute bear was my favourite part!
